If I Will Be You - exhibition in Kunsthalle Turku 6.5.-4.6.2022

Happy to announce that my short film will be in this co-exhibition with Yassine Khaled in Kunsthalle Turku (Turun Taidehalli) from 6th of May till 4th of June 2022. The exhibition opening is on Thursday 5th May at 18-20, hope to see you there!

About the exhibition:

The Large Gallery of Kunsthalle Turku presents two exhibitions that are separate yet linked with regard to themes and content. In his pieces, Yassine Khaled explores communication, digitalisation and the sense of belonging in various communities through interactive sculpture and installation. Elina Oikari works with short film to examine the conflicts of working on a subject selected from outside one’s own experience and the transformation of a fictional film into a documentary.

Elina Oikari’s work at the exhibition has been supported by the Finnish Cultural Foundation, the Arts Promotion Centre Finland, Screenshot Filmscanning Berlin, the Finnish Cité Internationale des Arts Foundation and Cité Internationale des Arts.
